The World Is Our Classroom

The World Is Our Classroom

I often say this when I come across people who are unfamiliar with home education. The really skeptical ones who think we confine our children to our home all day, every day. Those critics who think, “All children belong in a classroom.” To which I retort, “I disagree, children belong with their ... VIEW POST

Roadschooling: Hiking At Hocking Hills

As I previously shared in my post What is Roading schooling, we are in the early stages of planning and sampling roadschooling. Right now, we are trialing roadschooling by taking a day trip or weekend trip to destinations that are a few or several hours away. The past two weekends we have ventured ... VIEW POST

About Sarah

Just the name of my blog gives me away. Hi, There! I am Sarah Bliss, author of Holistic Homeschooler. I am happily married to the man of my dreams and together we raise two adorable children

We obviously homeschool and believe home education is more than academics.

I hold a personal philosophy that homeschooling is holistic and encompasses the whole child-body, mind, heart, spirit.

When I refer to the spirit, I mean the holy spirit. That ones own spirit needs daily nourishment from the word of God.

I  homeschool mainly using a Charlotte Mason Philosophy of Education. I absolutely love nature which is why the nature study aspect of Charlotte’s philosophy really speaks to me. We spend hours outside, on nature walks or the occasional hike.

Additionally, I have a burning desire to take our homeschool Journey on the road and share our travel adventures with anyone who will read or listen. Yet, this is a plan in progress so for now we are casually road-schooling.

Finally-I am a Registered Nurse, with the heart to spread educational information on health, wellness, and physical fitness.

I hope to be a source of encouragement and inspiration as we travel along this homeschool journey together.

My oldest started her next level/form/grade the first week of August. We took a week off when we went to see the Columbus ships plus Thanksgiving break. Now it’s Christmas month and we are halfway through term 2 so I say it’s a great time to celebrate advent. Maybe leisurely do some of the cores like math and reading lessons. Otherwise, the focus has become a peaceful advent. What are you doing? Are you cuddled up watching Christmas movies or how about a good Christmas book? Have you read the sparkle box? 🤩
