A Gentle Feast Review: Cycle 2 Wars, Whigs, and Washington

This Gentle Feast review was a long time coming. My children and I are nearly through cycle two, Wars, Whigs, and Washington and last year my oldest went through Cycle one (formerly the Green Year). I think now I have a firm grasp on the ins and outs of A Gentle Feast.  A Gentle Feast is ... VIEW POST

5 Scripture Verses For Motherly Motivation

This is how I like to wake up in the morning. Trust me it doesn’t happen everyday but when I have one of those really spectacular and amazing days-this is how it starts. If I manage to wake up before the kids, just 5-15 minutes of bible time, and fit a run in. Crazy, right? It shouldn’t ... VIEW POST

Nurturing The Sibling Relationship

I am standing in my kitchen washing dishes when my oldest walks up next to me. In a whinnying voice she cries, “He has my toy and when I tried to take it, he swatted at me.” I sigh, my patience wearing thin since this is the 100th time this has happened this morning. I put my washcloth down and ... VIEW POST

Homeschooling Won’t Change The World

In order for a disease process to initiate something called a threshold effect must take place. A combination of various risk factors occur all at the same time until it becomes too much, the person's body has reached the threshold of what it can handle at which point a disease process ... About Sarah

Just the name of my blog gives me away. Hi, There! I am Sarah Bliss, author of Holistic Homeschooler. I am happily married to the man of my dreams and together we raise two adorable children

We obviously homeschool and believe home education is more than academics.

I hold a personal philosophy that homeschooling is holistic and encompasses the whole child-body, mind, heart, spirit.

When I refer to the spirit, I mean the holy spirit. That ones own spirit needs daily nourishment from the word of God.

I  homeschool mainly using a Charlotte Mason Philosophy of Education. I absolutely love nature which is why the nature study aspect of Charlotte’s philosophy really speaks to me. We spend hours outside, on nature walks or the occasional hike.

Additionally, I have a burning desire to take our homeschool Journey on the road and share our travel adventures with anyone who will read or listen. Yet, this is a plan in progress so for now we are casually road-schooling.

Finally-I am a Registered Nurse, with the heart to spread educational information on health, wellness, and physical fitness.

I hope to be a source of encouragement and inspiration as we travel along this homeschool journey together.
